Mellow Expeditions - @olliehordon

This week’s Mellow Expeditions feature comes from @olliehordon who recently completed the ‘Tour du Mont Blanc’ with a couple friends. Ollie’s fine cutting photography shows us the beauty of foreign landscapes and the value that they hold. Here’s what he had to say about it..

After last years failed attempt of completing the full route and minor setbacks throughout the year, myself and a group of friends set off for the alps in hopes to complete the TMB.

Tour du mont blanc is a 170km hike, traversing the swiss, italian and french alps, with the harsh terrain a total of 10,600 metres elevation is gained.

We started in les Houches and the first two days took us to les Chapieux over some harsh differing terrain changing from rocky paths to snowy patches. From there over the next couple days we worked up to Italy, into the next major town on the trail which is Courmayeur.

After the Italian alpine valley we arrived in Switzerland, this took us to the near finish line as we arrived back in France to Chamonix.

The trail was tough and challenging but extremely rewarding with the beautiful alpine scenery, we managed to complete with 10 full days of walking.

This trip is definitely one that will be remembered along long with the memories made and amazing people we met along the way.
